I’ve been blessed to have some wonderful cats as pets, and today I want to share some photos of Tyler.

Tyler came to me as a little kitten. I got him from a shelter that had some of their kittens at PetsMart. I found him on my lunch break, paid for him and went back to pick him up after work and brought him home. He was a companion for my cat Jasper. Jasper was lonely because my sister had moved out recently and took her cat Cosmo with her. Cosmo was Jasper’s brother, and Jasper missed him!

Tyler was a great addition to my home. He took to Jasper immediately, and Jasper tolerated him at first and soon grew to like him. They were buddies and had lots of fun playing, eating and sleeping together.

I have nicknames for my cats, and Tyler’s nickname was Bugglewumpus. He was a sweetheart! He loved to cuddle and had such a sweet personality.

His markings were beautiful! I loved the fact that it looked like he had a mask on his face. The white on his cheeks went all the way around to the back of his neck and met there as if he was wearing a white mask around his face and tied behind his neck.

He loved to play with paper of all kinds, and I kept a basket of paper handy for him once for a couple of weeks. He adored it and played with it constantly.

I miss him. He disappeared one day after I’d begun letting him out of the house once in awhile. I never saw him again. Sometimes I still feel sad when I think about him and I hope and pray he was taken in to another home and loved. I don’t know, though…all I can do is trust that God took care of him no matter what happened, and that if the worst happened, Tyler is in a wonderful place full of love and goodies and all the goodness one of God’s most wonderful creations deserves.

I miss you, Tyler. Thanks for being part of my life.

You can see more of one of God’s most wonderful - and funny! - creations at the Friday Ark and on this coming Sunday’s Carnival of the Cats hosted at Watermark.

I’m so sorry Tyler isn’t with you anymore. I’m always afraid when I let mine out, so I don’t do it very often even though we live in the country and they beg me all the time to go out.

I know the feeling. My sweetie and I have begun letting Riley and Blossom out into the backyard, but we never leave them alone and only let them out for about 30 minutes or so a day.

I’d love to build a cat enclosure for them, but I rent and I don’t think my landlord would go for it. But someday…
