A Prayer

Teach me to walk more slowly, Lord,
That I may really see
All of the many treasures
That You have given me.

Help me to speak more softly, Lord,
Lest something in my speech
Should injure someone's feelings,
Place friends beyond my reach.

And if I never take the time
To stop and smell the flowers,
Show me how to rewind my life
And slow my hurry hours.

Remind me to pray often, Lord,
And thank You every day
For all the beautiful, bountiful things
You made, then gave away.
