I had some 'fun' today...
The lead typist thought he was funny...he found a dead wolf spider on the stairs, and used some paper to pick it up. Then he came to my desk while I was working, held it close to me, and said that he had something for me. I turned around to look, and all I saw was a big hairy ugly spider on a piece of paper less than a foot from my face, and I shoved my chair back and loudly told him to get that thing AWAY from me.
Of course, most of the proofreaders near me are guys, and they all started laughing 8\ LOL! Yeah, it was funny, but if Matt does it again, I told him he'd be beyond dead :D
Well, it's been nearly a week since I posted in here! I live a fairly boring life at times, which is why I haven't been posting every day.
It's Thursday, and I'm getting ready to head out to my backyard to read and relax. I bought a nice hard plastic resin type table, set it up with an umbrella and some chairs, and like to sit out there in the evenings after the sun has dropped below the horizon but it's still daylight. It's been hitting the 100s this week, and in this house without air conditioning, it can get hot. The swamp cooler does an ok job of keeping the inside temperature down, but it's always nice to get some fresh air
I went to Home Depot after work yesterday and bought a mister thingy...you hook it up to a hose, and it sprays a mist of water which helps cool things down.
Last night I sat out in the backyard for an hour, enjoying the sunset (my backyard faces west), listening to
K-Love Christian radio, reading a book and winding down. I just got back from doing that tonight
Earlier this week my cat Riley caught a small cold or something, and I was so worried! That cat is so incredibly special to me...he's my gift from God, and is the best pet I've ever had.
He's only 3 years old, and to lose him now would be devastating to me
This weekend is gonna be a busy one for me! Last Monday was my mom's 61st birthday
and the way I usually celebrate birthdays and other special events is to fix a meal for that person and whoever else might be there
On Saturday I'll be going to my sister's house to visit while our father and stepmom are there, and I'll spend the rest of the afternoon with her. Then I'll be driving up to my mom and stepdad's home to stay the night. On Sunday I'll be cooking lunch for them...teriyaki pork shish kebabs, chinese rice, a yummy green salad, ice tea, strawberry lemonade, a veggie tray with honey mustard dip, and lemon cheesecake bars for dessert
Next Wednesday I have the fun and pleasure of meeting the new singles pastor at my church. She seems like a neat person, and we'll be meeting after work for dinner and to talk about my possible involvement with the singles ministry. I'd love to be involved again and to be active in some type of ministry, so I'm eagerly looking forward to this
Well, it's getting late so I'd better finish this up and head off to bed! Tomorrow is Friday, and I love Fridays
