Hello :D
Well, it's been busy since I last wrote in here!
First, the mouse update: Still no sign of the mouse, not even a dropping, which is good news

I'll be keeping a closer eye on Jasper from now on, though...no more allowing him inside without checking his mouth first!
Saturday was a big day for me - I had my first eye checkup scheduled in about 5 years, and planned to get some new frames. The frames I have right now are old, and the style is outdated. My sister has been threatening to kill me if I didn't allow her to help me pick out some new frames, and nearsighted as I am, I was glad for the help.

I had to be at the optometrist's office at Sears for my appointment at 11am, and made it there just on time. I was annoyed, because there were no directories inside the entrances to Sears telling me where to find the Optical dept, and I did a lap around the ground floor before finding a directory next to an elevator tucked back in a corner. Sheesh. Jam it way back where it's hard to find!

As is usual, the dr. was late for my appointment, and I finally got in around 11:30. I don't know where I've been, but this was the first time in my life that the dr. put eye drops in my eyes to dilate my pupils...what a weird experience!
While waiting the 20 minutes to go back and have my eyes scanned, my sister and I browsed the frame selection, and I finally settled on two styles that I really liked. Both were wire rims, one was rose-colored metal, the other was a dull brass color. I ended up going with the rose-colored frames, as they looked nicer and were more feminine.

After the 20 minutes was up, it was back to the dr. for him to scan my eyes with these bright lights and bright yellow colored bar light thingy...talk about a strange experience! I think I'm still seeing spots

After the appt., my sister, her kids and I went to
Fresh Choice for lunch.

One of my favorite restaurants! We visited for an hour, then went our separate ways.
I got home, and my eyes were still feeling strange from the eye drops, so I laid down for a bit and then spent the rest of the day relaxing.
I was up early on Sunday, and did a bad thing...I cut church to go see Seabiscuit at the first showing at UA Market Square at Arden Fair. Oh, man...what a good movie! It's everything I thought it would be, and more :)
"You don't throw a whole life away just 'cause it's banged up a little." Seabiscuit is the story of 3 men broken by life, who come together through a horse that has also been broken by life. What follows is an incredible story of determination, of healing, of beating the odds, and that no matter how battered and beat up by life someone may be, they can still accomplish great things.
The racing scenes are heartpounding, and you feel like you're one of the jockeys. The scene where Seabiscuit and Red are racing through the autumn woods are beautiful, and the film makers successfully captured the feel of an era and the inspiration that was Seabiscuit. GO SEE THIS! I'm planning to see it again as soon as possible :) This movie made me laugh and made me cry, and I left the theater with that wonderful feeling you get from those rare movies that touch your heart.

Ok, I just heard Jasper

meowing outside, so I went to go let him in, but right before I opened the door I remembered my lesson from Friday night...I'm so glad I did!!! He had
another mouse

in his mouth, and wanted to bring it inside!

AACCKKKKKK!!! No way!!!! He can stay outside and meow all night for all I care!!!
Ok, where was I?

Oh, yeah! Seabiscuit

Go see it! I'm planning to go see it again this coming weekend with one of my friends

I spent the rest of Sunday doing some stuff around the house...I moved a shelving unit outside to the backyard, moved the dining room furniture around, moved boxes from the dining room to the backyard, cut the ivy back from the front porch and a few other things.
I ended the evening by watching Enemy of the State, then went to bed.

Monday was a pretty good day at work, except that things are slowing down, so we had to let one of the temps go. I really hated to do it, but we didn't have enough work for everyone, and I was told we had to cut back, so I ended up choosing someone who was late most of the time. Other than that, he was a really good worker, but I had no choice.
Today was also a pretty good day overall...things were still somewhat slow, though.
I got an email from the secretary of the Singles pastor at my church, and I get to explore the opportunity to become part of the leadership team, which is exciting

I really want to be part of the new ministry, and need to be responsible and do whatever needs to be done. I'm looking forward to being part of the new singles ministry

Well, I'd better get to bed...I've been staying up til nearly midnight the last few nights, and can't be doing that too many days in a row, or I might oversleep.

Don't know about you, but I hate it when I do that!

Goodnight to whoever's reading this, and be God's! He's the coolest, y'know
