It's been a relaxing and enjoyable holiday weekend!
I got two new tires on Saturday morning, then went to Walmart, Michael's, and PetsMart and bought a few things. Afterwards I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at home, enjoying having satellite again :D
I fell asleep on the couch and woke up around 6:30 on Sunday morning. I took my time doing a few things around the house, then colored my hair before getting stuff together for going to the state fair.
My sister, the kids and I all had a great time at the fair. We saw a few horse shows, took Ariel to the kiddy rides, wandered around looking at things, saw the 9-11 memorial, I tried deep fried Oreos and Snickers, then we left around 6pm.
The 9-11 memorial was probably the most stirring thing there...there's a huge I beam from the twin towers on display, and you wouldn't think that would have much impact, but the moment I saw it with all the items laid on it and the writing on it (from NYC, I think), I choked up. It was a somber moment...
There's also a tower of bells, a granite globe with the names of all the victims inscribed on it that's rolling around in place on a water fountain, two white towers that'll eventually be covered in green tinted mirrors, and a display of photos. I took photos of some of it, so as soon as I have them I'll upload them for y'all to see.
One of the funnest things (:D) we saw were the dancing horses...Freisian stallions and a white arabian. Ariel was getting a bit cranky wanting to go to the rides again, when the woman riding one of the stallions came over to our side of the arena and stopped right in front of us!!! :D:D:D I got some photos....I hope they turn out!
Today I've been relaxing for the most part. I went to Walmart to drop off the film, and have been at home watching L&O most of the day. Not glued to the TV, though. I've been doing a few other things, but always with L&O on in the background :D
OH!!! I forgot :D I LOVED the deep fried Oreos...they're dipped in a batter then have chocolate syrup lightly drizzled on top then some colored sprinkles and powdered sugar...rich, but very good. They taste a lot like thick, rich, dense, chocolately brownies hot from the oven :P The snickers wasn't as good, and I probably won't try that next year. But the Oreos!!! Bliss!!! :D
I put a cool coat on layaway at Walmart on Saturday :D It's denim in a patchwork pattern, with a tan fur collar, and the fur goes down the front where the buttons are, and is also on the cuffs of the sleeves and around the bottom. Way cool :D
Blossom was playing with me earlier...she's so cute!!! I took some pictures of her and will try to have them posted this coming weekend.
OH!!! I just found out that there's a Curves women's gym down the street from my house! :O I think I'm gonna join after I get some info.
That about sums up my weekend :D I hope all of you had a good one, too!
