I love to cook
It's not only an artistic expression for me, but it's also a gift of love
Unfortunately, being single doesn't often give me opportunities to do the type of cooking I love to do, so I've found ways to make those opportunities for myself.
My favorite opportunities to cook involve birthdays and days such as Mother's and Father's day. The last meal I cooked was a combined Mother's Day/stepdad's 70th birthday meal, and the menu included
- mixed salad with basil cream dressing
- stuffed chicken parmagiana
- cheesy garlic bread
- peaches and cream pie
It was very well received, and I'm looking forward to sharing my next menu with my stepdad for a belated Father's Day dinner. The menu I've come up with so far is:
- mixed salad
- cream of zucchini soup
- pecan crusted salmon
- grilled asparagus with garlic mustard
or/and
- spinach in browned butter
- some type of rice dish
- rolls
- and for dessert, some type of strawberry themed dish
I've asked my stepdad to let me know if this menu appeals to him, and will be finalizing it in the next couple of weeks.
Yep, I do love cooking!
