Late Night Ramblings
It's 2:35am and I should be asleep, but I'm not. I just finished reading a book by one of my favorite authors (Karen Rose) and now I'm at the computer listening to the falling rain.
Riley is asleep on my bed, Blossom is sleeping on the couch, and my roommate is sound asleep in her bedroom.
I can hear the whistle of a train in the distance as the cool night air wafts through the open window. The whistle stirs faint memories from my childhood, reminding me of my grandma's house in northern Indiana.
Tonight was a bit of a lonely night, bringing an appreciation for the wonderful gifts God has blessed me with along with hopes for the future, in His will and timing. I've also pondered how seemingly inconsequential decisions can open doors you never expected, and how God is in the business of giving good gifts to His children, deserving or not.
The peacefulness and stillness of this time of night lend themselves well to introspection and prayer. I've prayed for Grace, for wisdom and guidance, for discipline and faith, for friends and family.
I'm at peace with my life right now, content that God's will is being worked out, and that I'm following His path. I'm thankful for His forgiveness extended towards this imperfect child, and that we are saved by faith.
And now that it's 3am, I'm going to go join Riley in bed.
May God richly bless you and may you always grow in the knowledge of His love for you.
Latin America ChildCare
Latin America ChildCare was at my old church today. It was a happy 'coincidence' that I decided to attend the early service, and I'm glad I did!
LACC is a ministry reaching out to children all over South America. Not only does sponsoring a child help provide schooling, but also gives them the knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ. From their site:
