I HAVE A NEW BLOG! If you link to this blog, please update your link.

THANK YOU!

Welcome! So you've always wondered what I think about, what my observations on life are, and what I find important, which is why you're here! Or maybe not...

Oh, well...I'm just glad you're here, no matter what the reason may be. This is where I share about what's going on in my life, thoughts and observations, interesting links, and generally meandering rambling. And sometimes, even though I'm a political neophyte I even venture into the world of politics. If you'd like to comment on anything I say, feel free to click on the comments link at the end of each blog entry and comment away.

Meanderings
I don't really have anything in particular to write about today, so I'll just meander along and see what develops.

I went to my sister's house yesterday and our mom and stepdad came as well. For Mother's Day I fixed them a meal:

Easy Feta Chicken Breasts
Tomato Basil Rice Pilaf
Steamed broccoli and cauliflower with butter
Salad - romaine lettuce, cucumber, grape tomatoes, olives, red onion, and avocado with an olive oil/vinegar vinaigrette
Rolls

Everyone loved the meal :)

We all had a good time visiting, and I got home around 5pm or so and spent the rest of the evening chatting with a very good friend on the phone ;)

I've been attending a new church for about 3 months now and am really enjoying it. It's a small Baptist church just down the street from my house, and I enjoy walking there on Sundays. I recently began attending a Sunday School class and am enjoying that as well, although I've been extremely quiet. I tend to be quiet in new situations until I get to know others and am feeling more comfortable, then I begin offering my thoughts and opinions.

The Sunday school class is having a fellowship this next Saturday at 4pm and I hope to attend. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do so as my niece is having a dance recital that afternoon at 2:30 and I'll be cutting it close to make it. I'm going to try, though, as I do want to get to know people from my new church.

Attending a Baptist church is a big change in many ways from the Assemblies of God church I attended for most of my Christian life, but one I'm not having any struggles with. My new church is lively and upbeat and very informal, with sound doctrine being taught from the pulpit and a strong focus on outreach to the community.

Work is very slow for me today. That's not a bad thing, though. I've been training a coworker to do my job with the purpose of her being my replacement when I'm finally moved to another department. I'm hoping that happens in the next couple of weeks! Julie is doing everything I'd normally do, and that leaves me with little to do other than some proofing here and there. I do hope that I'm moved to a new department sometime next week! I'm sooooooooo ready for it!!!
