Dean's Texas Style Banana Pudding
2 cups Sugar
2 tbsp. Butter
2/3 cup Cornstarch
2 tsp. Vanilla
¼ tsp. Salt
6 Large Bananas
4 cups Milk
6 Egg Yolks
1 Box Vanilla Wafers ('Nilla Wafers)
1. Mix Sugar, Cornstarch and Salt together. Add Milk and beaten egg yolks; cook in a double boiler until thick
2. Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla.
3. Layer vanilla wafers in a 9x13 inch dish, then add a layer of sliced bananas, then a layer of pudding. Repeat layers.
4. Top with cool whip, whipped cream or meringue.
Dean prefers it without meringue!
