Morning Glories Daily Devotionals
~ January 11 ~

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

~ Psalm 56:3, 11

Fear - it can be paralyzing. It can keep us from doing what we know God would have us do. It can keep us under the bondage of worry about what others will think of us, or how they may react when we obey Him. It robs us of joy and peace.

Yet, once we step out in obedience to God, the joy and peace follow. Our obedience to Him is essential to our growth. We will face hard decisions, and we will struggle with them. The important thing to remember is that men cannot take away our security in Christ Jesus. He is there to carry you through the trials that will surround you, and His peace will fill your heart, even in the most desperate times of turmoil.

So don't be afraid to obey God - at times it will be hard to do, but the rewards are great. Man cannot harm the part of you that really matters - your spirit. Look to Him when you are afraid, and trust His plans for your life - He has only good for you.

Lord, thank You for being there for me when I'm afraid. Thank You that You give Your wisdom freely and plentifully when I ask for it. Thank You for Your love and mercy, and help me to be loving and merciful as I obey You today. Let my actions be loving, even as Yours are, and let all that I do be done with love.

In Jesus' name,
Amen.
