Morning Glories Daily Devotionals
~ January 15 ~

That you, being rooted and grounded in love may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge.

~ Ephesians 3:17-19

And here is the central truth of the Christian life - God loves you....so much, you can't even imagine it! You may feel unloveable, unwanted, unworthy - but that is far from the truth. Before time began, God knew you - He knew every moment of your life - the moments already lived, the moment you are in now, and all the moments to come. He knew all the sins you would commit, He knew the times you'd be angry at Him, the times you would turn away from Him and follow your own plans. But His love for you is bigger than anything you do or don't do. His love is unchanging.

As Christians, we need to be rooted and grounded in the knowledge of His love for us - not looking for a feeling, not searching for a sign, but resting in the assurance of His word to each one of us "For God so LOVED the world that He gave...." His love truly passes knowledge - how can we possibly understand it? All we can do is accept His gift, freely given to us in love.

Thank You, Lord, that Your love is wider and longer and deeper and higher than we can ever imagine. Touch each one of us with Your loving hands today, and help us to see that Your love for us is not based on what we do or do not do, but it's based on who we are - Your creation. You love us with an everlasting love, and we thank You for that.

In Jesus' name,
Amen.
