Morning Glories Daily Devotionals
~ January 18 ~

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.

~ 1 Corinthians 1:27-29

Do you ever feel you aren't good enough for God? That you aren't smart enough, pretty or handsome enough, educated enough, successful enough, thin enough? That you need to be like Charles Stanley or Chuck Swindoll before God can use you? I have good news for you :)

God isn't looking at those standards when He looks for people to use. He looks for the weak vessel so that His power shines through. He chooses normal people like you and like me so that the world can see He is our strength. He takes the people the world despises and raises them up to reach the lost and broken souls that so many ignore. He chooses us so that when the world sees us, there is no reason to doubt that God is in our lives and He is able to save us. And we glory in Him.

Lord, thank You for seeing me and loving me as I am, and for choosing me to be with You. Help me to learn that it's only in Your power that I accomplish anything, and that when I am weak, then You are strongest in my life.

In Jesus' name,
Amen.
