Morning Glories Daily Devotionals
~ January 21 ~

And He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you."

~ Luke 12:22-26, 29-31

It's so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day worries of paying bills, buying groceries, having enough money for gas, juggling your finances from one paycheck to the next. And naturally, we start worrying about all of that. Where are we going to come up with the money to buy the school clothes for our kids? Will we have enough money for groceries for the month? What about car insurance? What about new tires? The list goes on and on, and you can always count on a few unexpected expenses popping up.

God's promise is that He will provide us with what we need. Our concern is to seek His kingdom, to follow the path He's laid before us, and to trust Him because He KNOWS what we need. He has provided for the birds of the air, and you are more valuable to Him than any bird. He will not leave you empty handed. His provision may not come in the way you expect or want, but it will come - you can count on that. Psalm 37:25 says 'I have been young, and am now old, and have never seen the righteous forsaken or His children begging bread.' As God's child, you have His promise to take care of you.

So take your worries to Him today, and lay them at His feet, trusting Him to see you through...and He will!

In Jesus' name,
Amen.
