For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us;
nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.
Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle
is not yours, but God's. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position
yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, Oh
Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against
them, for the Lord is with you.
~ 2 Chronicles 20:12, 15, 17
When the people of Judah were facing invasion by their enemies, they turned to
God for deliverance. They knew they had no power against the army coming to
destroy them and they didn't know what to do. And what did God have them do?
He had them position themselves, stand still, and see His salvation. When
their enemy came to kill and destroy the people of Judah, they stood still and
praised God, knowing He would deliver them...and He did.
When we face the enemies of our life - in whatever form they come, remember
that God is with you. The battle is His, and He will deliver you. Position
yourself in Him, resting in the assurance of His love and care for you, stand
still and trust Him, and see His salvation come. Your enemies are powerless
in the face of God!
Thank You, Lord, that we can turn to You when our enemies overwhelm us. We
know that You love and care for us, and will deliver us and keep us safe in
Your hands. Help us to trust You more fully each day and to grow closer to
You.
