Morning Glories Daily Devotionals
~ February 2 ~

If we freely admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins (dismiss our lawlessness) and continuously cleanse us from all unrighteousness (everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought and action).

~ 1 John 1:9 (Amplified Bible)

Are old sins haunting you? Do you feel that God won't forgive you? Are you uncertain that God has forgiven you even though you've asked Him over and over for His forgiveness?

God will forgive your sins, no matter what they are. When you confess your sins to Him, He has promised to forgive them, and to continuously cleanse you from all unrighteousness. He's not keeping track of your sins, writing them down and planning to accuse you with them someday. 'For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed are transgressions from us. As a father pities His children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.' (Psalm 103:11-14).

God knows your heart - He knows how fragile you really are, and He knows all the sins you've ever committed and ever will commit. His mercy is great towards you, and He has removed your transgressions as far as the east is from the west. And you know something? As long as you go east, you'll never start going west - it's impossible! If you go north, eventually you'll start going south, but east and west will never meet. That means He has taken your transgressions and removed them from you forever!

Lord, thank You today for the forgiveness of my sins, which are many. Thank You for cleansing me from unrighteousness, and for Your love and mercy, which is great. Turn my heart towards You today, guide me along the paths You have prepared for me, and lead me ever closer to Your will.

In Jesus' name,
Amen.
