Morning Glories Daily Devotionals
~ February 3 ~

Let our lives lovingly express truth in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, even Christ the Messiah, the Annointed One. For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part (with power adapted to its own need is working properly, in all its functions, grows to full maturity, building itself in love.

~ Ephesians 4:15-16

Each one of us is a necessary part of the body of Christ. You may feel like a feeble Christian, one who is weak and doesn't do much for the kingdom of God, but your place is vital in the body of Christ.

God has placed you where you are, and He has given you gifts that you may not be aware of yet. As you serve God in the place He has planted you, you will discover those gifts, and discover your place in His body. Not all of us are called to be visible workers - some of us have been called to work behind the scenes, encouraging fellow believers as they go out into the world and use their gifts. Each role is essential, and without you, there is an empty space. One of my favorite scriptures says 'For in fact the body is not one member, but many. If the foot should say, 'because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,' is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, 'because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,' is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, just as He pleased.' (1 Cor. 12:14-18)

You are the person God intended you to be. You still have growing and maturing to do, just like everyone else. But God didn't make any mistakes - you can count on that. So serve God today, right here, right now. Let your life be used by Him, let His love flow through you to the people you meet each day, live your life by His word.

In Jesus' name,
Amen.
