Morning Glories Daily Devotionals
~ February 29 ~

A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

~ Proverbs 16:9

We have so many plans for our lives - for school, for marriage, to buy a house, a car, to take that perfect dream vacation, to invest for our retirement. And sometimes we get so caught up in those plans we forget the Master weaver of our lives....but He doesn't forget us!

Plans can take on a life of their own, and we can get so involved in planning we forget to look to God to see what He would have us do. We think that next summer would be the perfect time to take that vacation, but God sees the big picture and knows that our vacation would be a disaster at that time. In His love for us, He steps in and our plans fall apart. When we're not focused on God, we react in panic and stress, running around frantically trying to put everything back together, sure that our plans were in His will. We don't take the time to relax and pray, asking for His guidance and wisdom, which is there waiting for you.

The next time your plans fall apart, don't panic. Stop, take a deep breath and remember that God is in complete control of your life. He will order your steps and open the doors for the path He has for you to follow. Let go of the worry and stress, give it to Him and rest in the divine assurance of His love for you. He will never leave you or forsake you, and His plans for your life will bring you greater fulfillment than you can possibly imagine!
